How Elections Work

A mayor is elected every 5 SkyBlock days (~5 real-world days). During the last day of a mayor's term, a voting period opens where players cast SkyBlock Votes for the next mayor.

  • Mayors create time-limited buff windows for specific activities.
  • The current mayor is visible in your SkyBlock Menu (F key).
  • Track upcoming elections at SkyBlock.tools/election.

Special mayors

Scorpius, Derpy, and Jerry are special candidates that appear occasionally instead of the regular slate. They almost always win due to unique or powerful perks. Prep for them early when they appear.

Perks change between elections

Each mayor has 3 perks but only some are active each term. Pay attention to which perks are active — the same mayor can be weaker or stronger in different elections.

Mayor-by-Mayor Guide

Diana — Best for: Mythological mob farming

Diana's Mythological Ritual perk causes burrows to spawn across SkyBlock islands, which can be dug up to find mythological mobs. These drop:

  • Griffin Feathers (very valuable)
  • Chimera Talisman ingredients
  • SkyBlock XP drops

This is one of the best events for rare accessory farming. Prep by having a Griffin pet and a Shovel ready.

Cole — Best for: Mining

Cole's Comet and Forge the Galaxy perks give:

  • +100 Mining Fortune (huge drop multiplier)
  • Bonus Powder from ores
  • Forge time reductions

Best time to grind gemstones and push HotM levels.

Marina — Best for: Fishing

Marina gives +Sea Creature Chance and +Fishing XP multiplier. Best time to:

  • Grind Trophy Fish for Shredder materials
  • Level Fishing skill faster
  • Catch rare sea creatures

Scorpius — Best for: SkyBlock XP farming

Scorpius's Bribe perk gives free SkyBlock XP every day. Very strong for unlocking higher SB Levels. Usually wins elections by a landslide.

Derpy — The Event Mayor

Derpy (special/rare mayor) causes:

  • All stats × 3 (health, defense, strength)
  • Mob health × 3
  • Coins from mobs × 3
  • Chaos overall

Best for: fast Slayer completion (bosses die fast, coins increased).

Jerry — Wildcard

Jerry's perks are randomly selected from other mayors. Could be amazing or useless depending on what's rolled. Check the perk list when Jerry is elected before planning.

Preparing for a Mayor

  1. Check who's upcoming — SkyBlock.tools/election shows candidates 1–2 terms in advance.
  2. Stock items cheaply before — prices rise when the mayor term starts.
  3. Plan your grind — know exactly what you'll be doing during the mayor's term.
  4. Sell after — prices often normalize or drop after a term ends.

Don't over-prep

The safest prep is stocking items you'd use anyway. Avoid buying 50M worth of items for a "buff window" you might not use fully. Moderate, targeted prep beats gambling on market movements.
